Venezuela News Update
Greetings from Venezuela!!
We are sorry we haven't been able to write for
awhile. It is difficult to get into town to use the internet and the
last couple of times we have come the internet wasn't working.
Anyway, we are doing well. The American group that was here just
left and now we are just here with 2 student missionaries and Bob
and Neiba, the mission pilot and his wife.
The most exciting news we have is the unexpected Valentines gift we received, a little Pemon Indian baby boy. He is almost 9 months old and is just adorable!! We are caring for him because his mother is unable to and his grandparents are studying at the Bible school here. The mother has developed mental problems and is only 23 years of age. She was just wandering off and leaving the baby by the river or in the jungle. Right now we are planning on keeping him until
June when his grandparents finish school. There is a possibility
that we will adopt him but we don't know yet if the grandparents are
willing. Please pray that he will be raised where it is God's plan
for him to be. We love him already and would love to keep him but we
want to leave it in God's hands. His name is José Wilfredo Gonzalez.
Currently we are overseeing the building project
for Union College. We are also working hard at learning Spanish.
It's been difficult to focus on that while all the Americans were
here, but now we have a better opportunity!
The plane that Bob has been flying is having
engine troubles. It only had 50 hours left on that engine but now
problems have arisen that make it unsafe to |
